Have you ever gotten the cold shoulder?

I can't say I've ever received the cold shoulder from anyone, but it has been my experience that people don't do things without a reason. You could be imagining it, or you could have mistaken someone else for that person if you don't know him/her well--that has happened before(a nurse once mistook me for her new brother-in-law), but if that's not the case, then you have to figure out the reason. !. He/she didn't want to acknowledge knowing you because they were with someone and didn't want to explain how they knew you. 2. They thought you had done/said something which was offensive to them. It could have been told to them by anyone. 3. You could have done/said something they witnessed without you knowing it. Why don't you ask? It can't hurt how you feel now, and it may clear the air.
