Does or can anyone help i need info !!!?

hi there , so i have a new addition to my family , a crimson rosella , a male , he is 9 years old and i got him yesterday , he whistles great , but cannot talk although i think he does try lol , the thing is he comes up to get u to talk to him in the cage and when u put your finger up he jumps away , so i dont think the lady that had him had much hand contact with him , he does take food from u but can be a bit snappy with it , so anyway i was wondering is it too late to try tame him a bit better and maybe to get him to talk or whistle new tunes , thank so much all advice is welcome xxx
