Is jane eyre good to compare with Tess of the d'urbervilles, please give opinions?

I'm supposed to write a comparative essay on two books. I already read Hardy's Tess, I was thinking of doing Jane Eyre with Tess. My teacher also told me to try other Hardy novels. I'm confused I like jane but is it good, can you guys give me other titles and why they are good to comparisons with Tess.
