Is the United States Government bent on nuclear war?

With its fervent Foreign Policy to defend democracies in all corners of the world while simultaneously promoting, colonizing and subsequently overthrowing other world cultures, is the United States then bent on nuclear war? It's a legitimate question. We continue to exercise our freedom to impose "freedom" on other countries... If we do not stop and therefore acknowledge the vast number of ways to live life on this planet - if we do not stop and respect the beliefs and choices of other world cultures - if we do not stop and let loose our need to control other world cultures, would it not make sense that we may face a nuclear response? Rather than reading innumerable news articles on failed diplomacy, it would be nice to see our country actually building bridges to a better way of living for the planet as a whole. Our Foreign Policy is extremely flawed. It needs to evolve and be based upon a sincere need to cooperate with others - not power, control and domination.
