Please help! I owe just this month's rent and got a notice... and..?

it was a "NOTICE TO PAY RENT OR QUIT." I called the manager and told them that I just need until 6/10 and I will pay the late fee. I have also been planning to vacate this place and there is a "Notice of Intent to Vacate." Would filling that now before the three days given to me to pay, which made me just one day short of when I could pay the rent and late fees OVERRULE the notice?
