Pokemon Soul Silver Question?

Can you make eggs of legendary pokemon. Ok so when i put a pokemon in the daycare with a ditto it makes eggs of itself. But when i put a legnedary in it doesnt seem to happen. Is it possible to make an egg of a legendary
