Hi, I am 19 years old and I have been donating blood here in America, in Missouri, since I was 16. Since then I have donated about 14 times. My local Community Blood Center called me the other day and told me about Pediatric Blood Platelet Donations. She said that they have tested my blood for a common virus that makes the Chicken Pox and stuff and she said my blood was negative for that. She said that I am one of the lucky few who can donate this type of blood. It is platelets for sick babies and children in hospitals and I can donate about once every 8 weeks (56 days). That's about all the information I know about it. Does anyone know anymore? Thanks.
